Each GCWS seminar is limited to 20. Graduate students at participating institutions are eligible to apply. Doctoral students receive priority; masters students and advanced undergraduates may be admitted if space permits and require an email or statement of support by their advisor. Auditors will only be admitted with the special permission of all of the faculty for the course.

Our seminars offer graduate credit for students enrolled at participating institutions. Full participation in the seminar is expected of all students, regardless of credit status.

Cross-registration and credit arrangements vary by institution. Students should consult with the GCWS Program Manager and their academic advisors about registration.

Registration process overview:

Fill out and submit your application.

Await confirmed GCWS course acceptance prior to registration or cross-registration. You will receive confirmation within one week of the application deadline.
Review and/or complete any necessary cross-registration procedures.
Review all GCWS Academic Policies.
Upon approval, and if required, fill out and submit your GCWS Student Registration form.

Application for all GCWS courses

If you wish to apply for multiple courses, please submit an application for each course individually.

Applications received after the deadlines will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the seminar is filled. All students will be notified, by email, of the status of their application within a week of the application deadlines.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are applying for a Fall semester course and are expecting financial aid, please register for a ‘place holder’ course at your home institution. Financial aid can be dependent on the number of credits you are registered for and the deadline for GCWS courses typically falls after financial aid deadlines. Registering for a ‘place holder’ course ensures that your financial aid package will not be impacted. Once you hear back from GCWS, you can withdraw from the ‘place holder’ course and register for the GCWS course. Please be in touch if you have any questions.
